Successful real estate developers and construction companies recognize the importance of having a web site that clearly communicates their mission and allows for convenient interactive with current and prospective clients.
Four prominent firms that have a significant presence in the Wilmington and Greater Philadelphia areas have turned to the same firm to satisfy their interactive marketing needs.
The Archer Group, Delaware’s premier interactive marketing firm, whose regional and national client roster includes leading names in the pharmaceutical, banking, entertainment and convenience store sectors, has recently created new web sites for the Buccini/Pollin Group Inc., Preservation Initiatives Inc., Wohlsen Construction Co, and MacIntosh Engineering.
“There are strong parallels between the work of outstanding construction and development companies and what we do in designing interactive web sites,” says Lee Mikles, CEO of the Archer Group. “Their work and ours takes a lot of planning, requires a solid foundation and communicates a creative vision.”
Having a strong Web presence is essential to developers and construction companies because the Web has become a central element in major decision-making, like relocating a business, moving to a new home or choosing partners for a construction project, Mikles says.
All four companies have slightly different needs, Mikles says.
Both Buccini/Pollin and Preservation Initiatives, with their commercial, office and residential real estate development ventures, "have to be able to show their vision and attract tenants before construction of their projects is complete." Mikles says.
The Buccini/Pollin Group Inc., a privately-held, full-service real estate acquisition, development and management company formed in 1993, has offices in Washington D.C., Wilmington, Conshohocken, Pa., and New York City. Buccini/Pollin has developed and acquired hotel, office, multi-family, townhouse, industrial, retail, and parking properties in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern regions of the United States. Its current projects in Wilmington include the Christina Landing residential towers and townhouses and Justison Landing, a residential-retail-office complex on the city’s revitalized Christina Riverfront.
“As the internet continues to drive business, The Archer Group understood our challenges in managing cohesive marketing sites for our many different properties. They are helping to create a custom solution that supports our marketing goals,” says Sara Litow, Buccini/Pollin’s Director of Residential Marketing.
Preservation Initiatives, which has been reinventing historic neighborhoods in cities such as Boston, Philadelphia and Miami for more than 30 years, is now focusing its efforts on Wilmington, playing a key role in the development of the city’s Lower Market Design District (LOMA).
“The Archer Group embraced our vision of urban renewal and created a site that exceeded our expectations. They have been a great partner,” says Christian Winburn, vice president of Preservation Initiatives.
Wohlsen, a general contractor with offices in Lancaster, Pa., and New Castle, Del., needed a web site that would not only display its completed projects but would also provide a gateway for vendors and subcontractors who are working on current jobs or who desire information about projects in the pre-bidding stage.
Macintosh, one of the region’s leading structural engineering firms, recently underwent a name change. Its web site is a major tool in establishing a new corporate identity for the firm, which has offices in Wilmington and Georgetown, Del., and in Exton, Pa.
“Each of our clients has a distinct image and message that they desire to project through their web site, so we work closely with them to understand their needs and their place in the market as we design their sites,” Mikles says. “As leaders in their field, they are known for their exceptional quality, and they expect the same in their web design.”
All four web sites were designed to enable clients to update them easily and to ensure ease of navigation, Mikles says.
