It was no surprise to employees at the Archer Group to be recognized for having the best internal communications among Delaware businesses in the annual Top Workplaces survey conducted by The Wilmington News Journal.

The top managers’ doors are always open, office manager Theresa Martin told the newspaper, and “the management team is very open at any time for any type of conversation.”

The survey also ranked the Archer Group second overall among “top workplaces” with 99 or fewer employees. Fifty businesses in this size category participated in the competition, the newspaper said.

The recognition was announced in a special section in the Aug. 14 edition of the Sunday News Journal.

The Wilmington-based Archer Group, one of the leading interactive marketing agencies in the Philadelphia region, was founded in 2003. It has more than doubled in size in the last four years and now has 58 employees. It recently moved into expanded quarters on the third and fourth floors of The Archer Building at 233 N. King St. in Wilmington.

The Philadelphia Business Journal recently ranked the Archer Group as the third-largest (and largest independently owned) interactive marketing and technology agency in the region.

“Our No. 1 competitive advantage is our people,” managing partner Todd Miller said. “Our work environment invests in and gives back to our employees daily, and our open workspace is more than just a symbol of our openness in communication. The value we place on our employees results in better solutions for our clients and their audiences.”

The News Journal commissioned Workplace Dynamics of Exton, Pa., to conduct its Top Workplaces survey. Ratings were based on the results of questionnaires completed by the businesses and their employees. The newspaper invited 468 companies to participate, and 100 businesses were surveyed.
