The Archer Group, the largest independently owned interactive marketing and technology agency in the Philadelphia region, has moved into expanded quarters in the newly renamed Archer Building at 233 North King Street in Wilmington, Del.

The Archer Group has taken over the third and fourth floors of the building, in addition to the second-floor space it previously occupied, for a total of 10,615 net square feet.

The office arrangement, the product of a design-build collaboration between J. Ivy & Co. Designs and Boss Enterprises Construction, is “authentic, unexpected, playful and highly functional, all characteristics of the Archer Group’s successful brand in the world of digital,” designer Jackie Ivy said.

The design preserves many of the building’s original features, including concrete floors and exposed columns and brickwork, and adds wood with a distinctively Delaware origin, reclaimed from pickle barrels used at the Vlasic plant in Millsboro, Del. Expertly laid in a pattern of random widths and finishes, the wood, nearly white from the pickle brining process, becomes a unifying design element, transforming distinct work areas into a cohesive whole.

The open design promotes the collaboration for which the Archer Group’s artists, web designers and technicians have become known as they provide digital marketing solutions for an instantly recognizable roster of clients, including Wawa, Herr’s, JPMorgan Chase, Barclaycard, DuPont, U-Store-It, Pfizer, Comcast, Armstrong, Delta Dental, Appleton Estate, SunGard, Warner Brothers, and Artesian Water.

Founded in 2003, the Archer Group has expanded steadily, more than doubling its work force to nearly 60 employees in the last three years.

“This expanded office gives our exceptional team the work space they need to thrive, and it gives us room to continue to grow,” managing partner Mike Derins said.

"We are excited about the design. We used reclaimed materials to create a dynamic space that truly reflects all the great people here and work being done at Archer," managing partner Todd Miller added.
